History...
For over 100 years, the Building Contractors Association has served its membership and the commercial construction industry of northeast Indiana. The BCA provides networking and educational opportunities; tracks the pulse of the industry, economic and national trends, and how they affect our local community. This strong foundation was built and is still maintained by northeast Indiana's oldest and most respected builders. The past few decades have brought many newer contractors into the fold of Association activities, and the BCA continues to grow by adapting and responding to the ever-changing nature of its members' businesses and the constant evolution of the industry is serves.

Diversity...
The BCA serves union and open shops alike, and collectively brings representation to governmental issues, fosters cooperation, and provides a reference source to members. BCA membership is comprised of general and specialty contractors, architects, and engineers, material suppliers, insurance providers, bonding and surety companies, accounting firms, legal firms--all of the varied businesses that work together to construct commercial structures and infrastructure in Northeast Indiana. The BCA's effectiveness in local, state, and federal issues is accelerating as it continues to expand its membership services and programs.

  •  Annual Construction Career Academy reaches out to 60 of the region's top high school building trades students to encourage their growth into a commercial construction career

  • Quarterly Safety Directors Forums help members to be more effective in their company's safety practices.
  • Regular education opportunities including OSHA 10- and 30- Hour Construction Courses, First Aid/CPR, Rigger and Signalperson Qualification, and Excavation Competent Person training.

Locally Focused

BCA is the only trade association that devotes 100 percent of its work and revenues to the local industry, and it is not affiliated with any state or national associations. Representing more than 280 companies, BCA communicates with a strong voice to local government and community leaders on matters of importance to its membership such as economic development, workforce development, and governmental affairs.
